About the stadium
Inaugurated in November 2003 and built for Euro 2004, the Estádio do Dragão is the home ground of FC Porto, one of the most decorated clubs in Europe. Designed by Portuguese architect Manuel Salgado, the stadium holds 50,033 covered seats, with unobstructed sightlines and strong acoustics on matchnights.
Known as "the Dragon" after the club's emblem (FC Porto was founded in 1893), the stadium replaced the former Estádio das Antas and became a landmark of the city. It has hosted major events: the opening match of Euro 2004, the 2019 Nations League final, and the 2021 Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City.
On the environmental side, it was the first European stadium to receive the "GreenLight" certification for energy-efficient lighting.

Visitors can explore the FC Porto museum, which opened in 2013 and covers over 130 years of the club's history across 27 themed sections spread over 4,000 m². The route takes in trophies, archive material, multimedia installations, and interactive displays devoted to key players, European campaigns, and the club's long relationship with the city. On show are the two Champions League titles won in 1987 and 2004, along with Europa League and Intercontinental Cup silverware.
The stadium tour takes visitors behind the scenes at the Estádio do Dragão: dressing rooms, the players' tunnel (where the club anthem plays), pitchside, the dugouts, the press room, and the presidential stands.
The combined museum + stadium ticket costs €25 for adults, with reduced rates for seniors and children. The museum is open every day; stadium tours run in scheduled time slots, except on matchdays and event days. The site is directly accessible by metro at the Estádio do Dragão station (lines A, B, E and F).
