About the stadium
Anfield is one of the most iconic stadiums in English football. Opened in 1884, it first hosted Everton before becoming the home of the Reds in 1892, following a dispute between club officials.
Expanded and modernised several times, the ground now holds more than 61,000 seats. It has grown considerably without losing its character. The contemporary facade sits alongside terraced streets of red-brick houses, yet the moment You'll Never Walk Alone rings out, the stadium's roots in Liverpool's working-class culture are plain to see.
The Kop, the famous end where the most devoted supporters (the "Kopites") are packed together, is the beating heart of the stadium's noise. It sits behind one of the goals.

The three other stands are:
- The Main Stand, which houses the dressing rooms and the players' tunnel
- The Anfield Road End, traditionally allocated to away supporters
- The Centenary Stand, a side stand containing executive boxes and VIP areas
On non-match days, Anfield is open for tours. The route takes visitors from the first-team dressing rooms to the famous "This is Anfield" sign, passing through the press room, the tunnel, and the dugouts. It continues into the club museum, where trophies, shirts, and memorabilia connected to club legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, and Mohamed Salah are on display.
An audio guide is available in 13 languages, alongside a multimedia device offering interactive content. Guides are also stationed along the route to answer visitors' questions.
