Etihad Stadium

Opened in 2002 for the Commonwealth Games, Etihad Stadium became Manchester City's home ground in 2003. Located east of Manchester city centre, it now forms the hub of the Etihad Campus.

With a capacity of over 55,000, the Sky Blues' ground is defined by its elliptical design and steep stands. An expansion currently underway will push capacity beyond 60,000 in the coming years.

The stadium is straightforward to reach by tram (Etihad Campus station), on foot, or by bus from Manchester city centre. Ongoing renovation works include an enlarged North Stand, new catering areas, and a hotel integrated into the complex.

On non-matchdays, Etihad Stadium can be explored through guided tours lasting 75 to 90 minutes. The stadium tour gives access to the dressing rooms, warm-up area, players' tunnel, dugouts, and the pitch side. Visitors can also take a seat in the press room and interact virtually with Pep Guardiola, or take in a virtual reality experience via "Beyond the Blue Moon".

The tour covers a good deal of Citizens history and behind-the-scenes detail, worth a visit for any football fan passing through Manchester.
