About the stadium

The Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López is the home of CD Tenerife, a club founded in 1912 that has moved back and forth between La Liga and the Spanish second division.

Opened in 1925, the stadium is one of the main sports venues in the Canary Islands. It sits in the centre of Santa Cruz and now holds around 22,824 spectators after a series of renovations carried out over the years. The last major round of work finished in 2001 with the opening of the new San Sebastián stand.

The ground is known for its warm, family atmosphere, and visitors often point out that the sightlines are good from every stand. Tickets are affordable, with prices ranging from about 15 to 40 € depending on the match.

The Heliodoro also runs a popular guided tour: it takes in the dressing rooms, the press room, and even a virtual reality experience that lets you walk out onto the pitch like a professional player. The tour is aimed at fans as much as at families and tourists curious to learn the history of the blanquiazul club from the inside.

With its central location, its friendly atmosphere and a history tied closely to that of CD Tenerife, the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López is a must-see for any football fan visiting the island.

Easy to get to and easy to enter. Good stalls and toilets located beside each entry which was great although there was no alcohol on sale. The home fans make you feel welcome and are very boisterous and supportive of the team. All in all a great visit and recommend for any football fan

⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Tenerife stadium offers a very solid football experience with a great local atmosphere. The fans are passionate and loyal, supporting their team loudly throughout the match and creating a nice sense of community. The stadium has its own charm and fits well with the island’s relaxed but emotional football culture. While it may not be the most modern or impressive venue in Europe, it is definitely worth visiting for an authentic matchday experience and friendly vibe.

Very good football stadium in the centre of Santa Cruz. Lot's of places outside for food and drink before or after the games. Ticket office outside and about 10/15 minutes walk away from the central bus station. Open bowl type of stadium with one covered section along one side stand. Good views on the pitch.

If you are in town, pop by for a game; don’t expect world class football but take it as an enjoyable casual experience. We got tickets through the clubs website for the San Sebastián sector, where many local fans sat. Within the sector, you can sit wherever you want and you will always be close to the field. You can not enter other sectors. The vibe was great, people got emotional (of course) and there is plenty of sun. In the upper part it can get quite windy. Tickets usually cost between 15-40 Eur, depending on the match. There is a small cafeteria in every sector and you can get a coke for around 3 eur. Overall, everything is easy going, you can basically show up 5 min before the game starts. Have fun!
