About the stadium

Located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London Stadium has been the home of West Ham United since 2016, one of several professional clubs in London. Built for the 2012 Olympics, the ground was converted into a modern facility with a capacity of over 62,000 for Premier League matches.

The move from Boleyn Ground (Upton Park), demolished in 2017, marked a new chapter in the Hammers' history. London Stadium now combines its Olympic past with the working-class football culture of east London.

On match days, the streets of Stratford fill up well before kick-off. Supporters in claret and blue gather in local pubs before making their way to the ground, singing "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles", the club's anthem. When the players walk out, bubbles drift across the stands, a sight unlike most grounds in England.

Beyond football, London Stadium also hosts major sporting events (athletics, rugby, baseball) as well as concerts by international artists including Beyoncé, Muse, and The Rolling Stones.

The stadium offers a guided tour of around 60 minutes, taking in the West Ham dressing rooms, the players' tunnel, the dugouts, and the pitchside area. The tour also covers the stadium's conversion after the London 2012 Games and includes several panoramic views of the ground.

Tours depart daily from the lower level of the Stadium Store, generally from 10:00 or 11:00. Special formats are also available, including the Matchday Tour, the VIP Tour, and the Legends Tour, led by former players.

The stadium is well connected by public transport, with several Underground and rail stations nearby, including Stratford and Pudding Mill Lane. Westfield Stratford City shopping centre is a short walk away.
