About the stadium

The London Stadium, located inside the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, has been home to West Ham United, one of London's many professional clubs, since 2016. Originally built for the 2012 Olympics, it was converted into a modern ground that can hold more than 62,000 spectators for Premier League matches.

The move away from the famous Boleyn Ground (Upton Park), demolished in 2017, opened a new chapter for the Hammers. Today the London Stadium brings together its Olympic legacy and the passion of east London.

On matchdays, the streets of Stratford come alive long before kickoff. Supporters in claret and blue gather in the local pubs before heading to the ground, singing the club anthem "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles". As the players walk out onto the pitch, bubbles drift above the stands, a fairly unusual sight.

Beyond football, the London Stadium also hosts major sporting events such as athletics, rugby and baseball, along with concerts by international artists like Beyoncé, Muse and The Rolling Stones.

You can explore the stadium on a guided tour of around 60 minutes, which takes in the Hammers' dressing room, the players' tunnel, the dugout and the pitchside. The tour also looks back at how the ground was redeveloped after the London 2012 Olympics and offers several panoramic views over the venue.

Tours leave every day from the lower level of the Stadium Store, usually starting at 10:00 or 11:00. There are also special options, including the Matchday Tour, the VIP Tour and the Legends Tour, which is led by former club players.

The stadium is easy to reach, served by several Underground and rail stations including Stratford and Pudding Mill Lane, and sits a short walk from the Westfield Stratford City shopping centre.

Been loads of times, staff are actually quite helpful. Venue is good loads of toilets loads of bars and loads of food places, plenty of gates so the stairs are not too dangerous, easy to get to, pain to get away from. Nice outside area sit by the canal and have a beer and food. Overall, prefer to wembley as there's much more to do in the area. Also my first time having a can of still water....seemed weird.....

Title: Amazing Metallica gig! Fantastic staff at the Forge, but queue entry needs better signs. I recently visited the London Stadium for the very first time to see Metallica. Overall, I had a wonderful experience, but there are definitely some areas where the venue could improve. The Entry & The Queue Drama 😕 The initial gate and security checkup point were very accurate, fast, and highly organized. However, the door queue itself was a different story. We were booked at the Forge, which unfortunately shares the same entrance door as the blockbox seats. We queued up well before the 3:00 PM opening time. It wasn't until just before the doors opened that a staff member came down the line to ask if everyone was going to the blockbox. Because they needed to go in first, we were suddenly set aside to the left of the door after waiting all that time. It caused unnecessary drama that could easily have been avoided if they had just put up clear signage showing exactly where Forge ticket holders were supposed to line up! The Forge Experience & Outstanding Service 🌟 Once we got past the door, the experience completely turned around. The Atmosphere: The Forge was a lifesaver. It was clean, comfortable, and the air-conditioned room was the perfect place to sit down and cool off before the heavy metal chaos started. Food & Drinks: The food (which you purchase) was not bad, and the service was excellent. We received a free welcome drink at the bar, though please note champagne and food are extra. The Staff: The receptionists at the Forge were absolutely amazing. They greeted us with massive, welcoming smiles and were incredibly attentive. Going Above and Beyond! ❤️ I was seriously worried that my phone battery would die, leaving me unable to take photos of Metallica or—worse—get lost and lose track of my companion. When I approached the ladies at the reception and asked for help, they gladly took my phone and my electronic handheld fan to charge them up for me. They truly saved the night! Despite the messy queue setup at the start, the fantastic staff and great atmosphere made this a brilliant first experience at London Stadium. Thank you for a memorable night!

First time at this stadium for a concert and it didn't disappoint. I found it so much better than Wembley. And it's really easy to access from the Stretford station, and its next to Westfield shopping centre. Bonus.

Great experience here seeing Metallica over the weekend. Getting in was very quick. Getting through security and being scanned in is quick. Beer prices are as you’d expect. Extortionate. Very disappointed that they moved from Heineken to a company like brewdog and increased prices but the beer was decent. Views were great, a huge selection of food here. From Mexican and Greek to pizza. So much choice. Multiple merch stations and you can walk out of the stadium at any time grab what you need. Only downside was some staff were on a bit of an ego trip asking people not to stand in the lower levels and to return to our seats despite 50 other people doing it in the next section with no problem. Would return!

Went here to see Metallica. First time at the stadium. This is a lot better than Wembley for gigs. My reasons are that getting out was smooth and rapid. The security staff were friendly and very efficient. I was back in south Norwood by 23.20. Just based on the ability to get out of the stadium and get my connections.

Metallica M72 World Tour in London: Absolutely Legendary!!!!!!🔥 Still buzzing from the Metallica concert at the London Stadium! The organization of the event was flawless - smooth, professional, and perfectly handled. As for the sound… absolute shockwave! It was incredibly powerful, crystal clear, and hit straight to the bone. An unforgettable night with unmatched energy! 🤘🎸

I love attending big summer concerts at the stadium! It's a nice walk through the park and it has good signage allowing you to understand where you need to go. The stalls don't feel tight and steep, and there's plenty of toilet facilities inside.

Went to a concert there and found it really well organised. Good sign posts and the stewards knew where we needed to go when asked. Very clean and open spaces around the stadium. Inside was again well organised, plenty of space and not over crowded. Plenty of staff around to direct and they were very welcoming and friendly. And easy to find our seats. The concessions were great, good choices and queues not too long - staff helpful and pleasant. Also very well organised when leaving to not allow bottlenecks or overcrowding in one area and had a stop go system on route to the station. Definitely prefer this venue to others I have been to.

A lovely stadium, staff very friendly and helpful. I went to see Take That and I honestly couldn't be happier with the performance. It has lovely scenery around it and plenty of places to visit for food and drink, lovely little pop up bars that make the trip worthwhile. It's a lovely place but not as good as the Emirates

Went to see Take That, they put on an excellent show. The atmosphere was brilliant. Their support acts Belinda Carlisle and The Script were great too.
